This attack illustrates the difficulties of authorities to protect Aden yet declared “provisional capital” of Yemen.

This attack car bomb is the bloodiest in endeuiller the largest city in southern Yemen since returning to the bosom of the Government in July 2015. Aden is the target of jihadist attacks several times a month. In May, two attacks killed more than 80 dead among the police.

They must fight both the Houthi Shiite rebels supported by Iran and Sunni jihadist groups.
