It also contains a sugar (glucose, sucrose, and fructose) high.
Its very high-capacity fiber facilitates intestinal transit. Important source of antioxidants, it would also reduce cholesterol and the risk of certain cardiovascular diseases.
Because of its rich composition, a scientist,VHW Dowson , even said that a date and a glass of milk enough to meet the daily nutritional needs of a person.
The benefits of dates according to the Qur’an and Sunnah
A fruit very appreciated by the Prophet (sallallaahu walayi wa sallam)
A Hadith indicates that God’s Messenger (sallallaahu Alayi wa sallam) liked to eat the dates. Abdallah Ben Dja’ffar reports: “I saw the Prophet eating wild cucumber with fresh dates.” (Bukhari and Muslim)
Or these hadiths on the date as a staple food, as was the case in Medina:
The Prophet (sallallaahu Alayi wa sallam) said: “A house where there are no dates is a house whose inhabitants are hungry “. (Muslim)
Abu Hurayra said, “The Prophet distributed dates one day to his companions. Each of them was entitled to seven dates; I had the same number too … “(Bukhari)
The fruit that nourishes Maryam (alayia sallam) at the time of birth
This fruit was also used to feed Maryam (alayia sallam) who was about to give birth, weakened and alone.

Amr Ben Maymoun, dates are a very nutritious food and adequate composition for a woman about to give birth (rich in iron, potassium, calcium, fiber, vitamins, and sugars), enabled him after this weakening of regain energy.

Sa’d ibn Abi According Waqass -Prières the Prophet and blessing be upon him, said:
“He who has lunch with seven dates in the morning Al-Ajwa, nothing will harm them in that day, nor by poison and not by witchcraft “(Bukhari and Muslim)
the dates mentioned Al-Ajwa are a variety to be found in Medina, among the best of the entire Hijaz.
To break the fast (just)
Anas reported: The Messenger of Allah broke his fast with some fresh dates before performing the prayer. If there were no fresh dates, he took dates (tamr); and there was not, he drank a few sips of water. ” (Abu Dawood)
Other version: Salman Bin Amer reported that the Prophet said, “If one of you wants to break the fast, he does so with dates by what they are a blessing, and if it is not dates, he break the fast with water because it is a purification “(Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi).
